Vinyl bargains

Well, that price changed quicker than an Oasis ticket…

Well bugger me, I paid £13.37 two years ago for that.

If only I’d waited

Any Mount Kimbie fans out there?!

They have a ‘Pay what you feel’ offer on their 1st ever EP on Bandcamp - I missed the same order on a 3xLP version of their album Carbonated!

Lots of discount codes on Paul Murphy’s Jazz Room Records label over at Bandcamp today

50% off all black vinyl at Invada.

mostly just soundtrackls though, and IMHO very very few soundtracks are ever pleasant to listen to as pieces of music in their own right.

the Billy Nomates stuff sounds great though!

Edit: the “beak” albums also good

Except for anything originally scored by Lalo Schiffrin, Isaac Hayes, Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, John Carpenter, Ennio Morricone, Angelo Badalamenti, John Barry, plus notables by AIR, Curtis Mayfield, Geinoh Yamashirogumi, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis and a host of films with excellent compilation soundtracks.

ok lets try that again, soundtracks in the last 10 years lol

that said, even some older stuff… the soundtracks can end up feeling somewhat disjointed, because they were never designed as bodies of music, but as support to a visual. EVen the schiffrin and quincy jones are not immune to this.

Exceptions in recent times were the atticus ross soundtrack to “social network” and daft punks “tron legacy”

Always good to shoot the messenger.
Please keep on digging :grinning:

Tend to agree - a recent irksome example is the ‘Last Of Us’ soundtrack - I loved the music and rather too rashly bought it on CD. Each musical ‘moment’ is under two minutes, and often under a minute. On the CD each track has a significant break between it and the next, making it incredibly annoying to listen to!
It would have worked flawlessly if each had simply been allowed to segue into the next, but no… :man_facepalming:

Lots of music isn’t to my taste. The same can be said in the soundtrack niche. Equally some music stretches my wig in the best possible way and some of that music includes soundtracks.

The imagination music can stimulate is one aspect of listening I love - (I rarely listen to hear what my system is doing, I find less pleasure in that compared to full immersion)

This very morning I have been in the mind garden charming snakes to this

I was waiting for someone to come along and complain that it wasn’t to their taste :grinning:

My tip would be the Mario Batkovic.

If you like Acid Accordion.

Talking of soundtracks, picked up a copy of Oliver for a pound the other day.
No idea why as I can’t see me playing it.
Actually might play it Xmas day to annoy the kids. :child:

Ive not bought any of these but they seem well reviewed; does anyone have any?

I’ve got the Dexter Gordon & Donald Byrd EP. Faultless pressing. Excellent sound quality.

FWIW, I’ve pre-ordered the Miles Davis Quintet Live in Paris vol. 1.
