Vinyl Flat record flattener

Has anyone here tried one of these? If so does it work? Or any other device?

I’ve just bought a record that is mint, apart from a wicked edge warp that my cartridge thinks is a fucking ski jump, and I’d like to try and fix it.

Before resorting to a couple of panes of glass and an oven, I’d like to try something that’s at least designed for the job…

Think Matt has one

Or one of those rim flatteners I should of said

What, like a clamp thingy that goes on your deck?

They look scary.

Do they work, though ?

No idea

Think it works just by its own weight

Could be talking bollocks though

Why change the habit of a lifetime?

Glass and warm oven worked for me.

Have you got a shit warped record to test with first?

If only there was someone here with access to lathes and stuff. Think of the money they could earn in their lunchtime (after consuming their nutritious nuked packet rice) turning up bits of experimental hifi foo.

Had one, traded it with a mate. There are many different types of warp it works for some not others. There are many different types of vinyl - It works for some better than others. (There is a list somewhere about ‘cooking times’ for different record labels) The heat is applied to the run in and run out grooves so serious kinks / dishing / warps will not fare well - Mixed results, lots of practice

Start out with thinks you don’t care about
