It’s been over 46 years since Hawkwind have produced anything of note lyrically. Dave Brock couldn’t write a shopping list FFS! However as a fan I persevere and this isn’t half bad, lyrics aside.

I got really lucky here. I missed the reissue of this and thought i’d lost the chance but I asked Juno to email me if it came back into stock. They got one in and I snapped it up. What an album.

R2R tape that costs more than the entire production budget of the album?
Those Rhino tapes aren’t that bad (in relative terms), if you can find them, about $300.
How does this sound? I have had a couple of variants of this album and both have sounded a bit thin.
Better than previous reissues but let’s face it, it’s not exactly a great recording but this does the best job I’ve heard of reproducing it.
However the 45rpm format does nothing for the listening experience and makes it very disjointed.
So it’s good, but hard to recommend at the same time.
