I don’t tend to read music reviews so I come to things like this maybe a bit cold and unwarned. If anything I can hear a bit of early Pavement (themselves influenced by The Fall), but no I don’t hear anything of the ramshackle genius of MES about this lot.
This new album is either an eclectic work if some prefer but to me it’s very lacking in focus.
I used ‘eclectic’ in a polite or even sarcastic way. This is a screaming mess without the benefit of decent screaming. Oh well, it seems I am not destined to be down with the trendy kids in 2022, much like every other year thank fuck.
Streamed it a few times, didn’t buy it, haven’t bothered with the new one
