OK, so this I quite like 
Although I get the feeling it’s a bit ‘Jazz for Jazz numpty’s’ 
Dunno about that, this was one of the albums that turned me on to how much I liked Keith Jarrett in his earlier career small ensemble outings. In turn getting turned on to Charles Lloyd led me to exploring some other avenues by associated performers.
An irrepressible Kenny Baker swinging hard on the trumpet here. So much energy with wonderful phrasing from Bakers lead horn. Deserves to be better known IMV.

Very encouraging that you are already liking some of the more ‘out there’ stuff.
I think you would enjoy a fair bit of Brit drum legend Seb Rochfords output. Try kicking off with some Polar Bear & Acoustic Ladyland. Also check out The Comet Is Comings output, Shabaka & The Ancestors + The two earlier Sons of Kemet albums…A big hint is that pretty much any project Seb Rochford or Shabaka Hutchings lend their talents to will yield gold!!
