Setting up a little vinyl system for FOL’s 14th birthday present and have had this in storage for a few years so popped the lid to check it is ok.
Any opinions as to whether the caps are failing or is it just glue to hold them in place?
Looks like glue to me.

That said, it looks like an early 80s model so caps are 40 years old. If the PCB can come out easily, it wouldn’t hurt to replace them with new.

I think its glue but wanted to make sure.
I think I could replace them ok but not before her birthday on Saturday!!
She may have to learn about risk management through life experience.
