It is a great film and great soundtrack. I was worried they would make an arse of it as I love the original TV series but they got it spot on.
It’s very good.
Best series I’ve watched in a long while. Compelling and beautiful portrayal of a terrible disaster.
I’ve now finished it.
You’ll love it
Looking forward to this (release date for Nov)
Apart from Grand Prix, Yanks invariably do this sort of stuff very badly.
Bale, Damon starring ? I can’t really get excited.
Saw X-Men Dark Phoenix today. Interesting that not only are they rebooting the X-Men, but they’re using the same story as the third film. The one that was just awful.
This is better, but that’s not hard. It’s still not actually any good. It’s rather standard nowadays - Hollywood can’t handle complex, conflicted characters who change through a film. The characters are entirely trivial and unbelievable.
I really think that superhero films need to have good actors with a good script. When you’re dealing with such fantasy concepts within the film, you need to be able to suspend disbelief, so you need the dialogue and acting to work. But it’s increasingly rare that it does, for me.
Add to this the complete lack of humour or light-heartedness and you have the perfect recipe for meh.
I’m a few episodes into Killing Eve. Its good
Going Sunday with daughter 2
Watched darkest hour … very good indeed.
You’ll need the fifth - it’s the finale…it sort of brings closure to a deeply unsettling but brilliant series.
I found it not to be as good as series one but there is a series 3…saying that they are both superb actresses especially the scouse born one
W Series.
Me too. I still have an issue with the concept but racing is racing
Watched a great old film about West Norwood where we used to live , also shows the workers at the Tannoy factory and at the end St Lukes church where many years we used to go
Very much my manor.
I’m in West Dulwich. SiL is in West Norwood, just up the road.
Fantastic, many happy memories of living in chestnut road
ooh, posh!
Vice. Well made but ultimately leaves you furious.
Next time you see Alastair Campbell or Tony Blair offering their opinions it’s good to remind yourself of the shitfest their lies helped justify
