I reckon he had some sort of mock alien day where they did some test (fantasy) thing to see who could think laterally etc. Maybe as part of a job application.
Or maybe he held security clearance and was just on some theoretical project to guess who you’d make a spaceship if you could?
Wonder why the FBI keep raiding him though? Probably because he keeps using dangerous / explosive stuff ?
No one asked him the obvious questions, which was annoying.
Starting with: if we have this stuff why the hell are we still building batteries and letting the planet cook?
