What I'm watching (Part 1)

I expect you’re able to identify with him.

He was a pretty cool baboon. You should watch it. I might watch it again soon.
There was a warthog and a meerkat type thing in it. I would not have been unhappy if they had been eaten by the hyenas tbh.

S1 True Detectives.

Epic, but then again it paired two great actors and they didn’t fuck it up.

It gets better and better as the series progresses too.

S2, watched season 1 when it first came out but just never got round to watching the rest…

Watchmen.

It took maybe x3 episodes to fully convince me but I’m all in for this now. The final nail hammered home at the end of episode 6 or 7 where they deployed a cut from the achingly rare privately pressed Zambian psych LP Witch. A nerdy one I know but it’s a personal white whale.

The first episode of series two is a hoot.

When he cuts the head off and the corpse slips on the pool of blood is ridiculous but very funny.

Watchmen Episode 8.

Excellent. Jeremy Irons revelling in it all.

Love is all you need?

Saw Knives Out yesterday. While I struggled with Daniel Craig’s accent, I really enjoyed it, one of the films of the year. Kinda like a knowing homage to Christie - it knew we knew to look for a cunning twist within a twist, so it made it twistier. With humour both dark and absurd, the only downside were the slightly overdone digs at rich America, which could have been more subtle. Great film.

Yep, fantastic.

Like a donut shaped donut hole, which in turn has a donut shaped donut hole.

It’s all about the donut holes.

Ooh I like the look of that! I’m in…

This

Utterly convincing performances by Coogan and Reilly, right down to the last little detail.

I can wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone with even a passing interest in their story.

Not what I’m watching now, but I thought this would be the best place to post it.

It seems that Kill Bill 3 is a possibility

Ooh, loved vol. 1 and 2 so that’s very exciting

Didn’t realise she was talking to him again, they had a major falling out after he ‘encouraged’ her to do a dangerous stunt which royally fucked her back up.

KB1 was great, but the final long scene in KB2 was Tarantino at his stupid-know-one-talks-like-this-over-the-top-dialogue worst.

In the right hands Kill Bill would make a really good limited series on one of the streaming services, now that they’ve got the kind of budgets that QT could work with.

Completely agree, his comic strip style would lend itself well to a Netflix series.

I’ll give Quentin a call and set up a meet with Netflix Head of Commissioning :+1:

Cool, can you speak to him about my new manuscript?
