What I'm watching (Part 1)

Any good?

Only watched the first one but yeah it’s got me hooked. Very disturbing.

I read a lot of fantasy fiction as a teenager. Wizards, dragons, swords, ravishing of maidens etc. I imagine that GoT is more of this.

It took me about a year to get through a box-set of the first season. It’s slow to get going, and all your criticisms of it are absolutely what I thought as well. But I finally got the last episode, and it got its hooks into me, and from then on, I devoured it. It seriously picks up… they get into their stride with it… so do stick with it. The first season is just a bit meh… but all the rest are amazing.

It sort of is… that stuff is there, but it’s much more political intrigue, against a backdrop of that stuff. It’s the machinations of kingdoms in an era when the standard elements of fantasy… dragons, magic etc, are generally viewed to be things of the past, possibly just myth.

This, but the TV show is pale imitation of the books. Read them first…

GoT is incredible.

Apparently Witcher on Netflix is supposed to be the new GoT.

Not that I’ve see GoT.

Witcher is utter bollocks if the bit I saw last night is representative…

I tend to agree, makes Britannia look good!

It was based on a book originally I think

Yes, the books came first. They were talking about it on the radio yesterday which is what piqued my interest.

New series of The Expanse is very good. It was dropped by SyFy (not childish or moronic enough) but has moved to Amazon Prime without loss of quality.

Looking forward to series 2 of Lost in Space next week on Netflix.

How many have Amazon done? I’ll check it out actually, I’m never up to date.

The whole lot is now on Amazon, but the first three seasons started on SyFy.

I’ll see where I’m up to. Thanks.
