As the Beeb have made it all available, just watched all three episodes of Gunpowder. Great stuff, as for the ending, well I wonāt spoil that for you. Anyone for a bonfire :grin
I watched the first one. Encouragingly gruesome execution scenes.
This. There is simply not enough decapitation on the TV these days. Gunpowder provided high quality scaffold action. I had forgotten death by squashing was actually a thingā¦

Perhaps āworkmanlikeā rather than terrifying but still handles those sure-fire horror tropes - the creepiness of children and of dolls, the uncertainty about dreams and madness, things that come to get you from āthe other sideā ā¦ pretty well. And thereās the odd shocker too.
