I use a similar one (Asus) but have it connected back to the main AP via ethernet over power.
Only get a max of 100Mbps but that’s fine for the small number of devices that use it.

We have a BT router and the BT ‘Mini’ Whole Home disks, coverage really is not that great even with 4x installed and getting drop outs still in the rooms furthest from the router, any advice for other bigger router/discs before plumbing for the BT ‘Premium’ ones?
