WTD: CD transport

My ancient Naim CD3.5 has died. I rarely used it as I mostly stream. I’m after a cheapish transport to play through my Aesthetics Pandora DAC. I need it delivered/mailed as I am housebound at present due to illness.

Thanks in advance

Guy @murrayjohnson put me onto one of these, cheap, sounds good by itself and has digital out for your DAC

I’ve got a Denon thing here you’d be welcome to - it’s technically an all-in-one, but it’s small form factor and has a digital out, crucially. I can drop it round after work one evening if you like, would be good to catch up, if the illness allows for it.

Thanks Jon but I think I am already sorted. You are welcome to call in anytime.

Bought this BTW. I asked @murrayjohnson about these some time ago. I started a search but have bid on 4 of them I think, without getting close. Anyway, playing now. I hope I didn’t stop @htm_1968 getting it! :folded_hands:

I bought a Cambridge Audio Transport on PFM so I wasn’t bidding on that.

I bought a CXC from Richer from their returns / ex demo page. Very pleased with it.
The remote is used for all the CA products so is a a bit big for the very few buttons that work.
But SQ is excellent.

I have streaming n that and use it a lot. But also, I have loads of CD’s, and some of them are either difficult to find on vinyl, or were presents. It seems poor form to get rid of things someone thought about and bought for you. Currently have something from the Fela Kuti box playing. A Christmas present some years back.

There was much rolling of eyes when I opened the box this morning though. " what the fuck have you bought that for!" :hugs:

A little riling of the natives is collateral…

I bought Eternal by Joy Division which is huge. My ancient CD player expired on the morning Eternal was delivered hence the need for the new player. I mainly stream but there are a bunch of CDs that I could not rip and another bunch that I could never dispose of, hence the new transport.

Is it good? Quite fancy it…

Haven’t opened it yet as I can’t play it. CDT arrives tomorrow.

Getting good reviews!

ah bugger too late but I sold my Quad 3CDT the other week for £300 and thought it was good.

Now I’ve got a pre amp I might get the CD player out :joy:

Good price. How’s it sounding?

Good and it works well. Not really tried it with enough cds yet, but the Fela has been sounding nice. Thanks for recommending!

It’s quite tidy. :+1:
