Was well and truly down a YouTube rabbit hole this morning when this popped up. Initially watched simply because there arenât many female bass players about. Itâs quite a departure from my usual listening material but some incredible talent on display and a most enjoyable listen:
Very nitin swahney at the start, talking of which, here is jeff beck covering nitin swahneys nadia with Tal Wilkenfeld on bass.
really been enjoying these, not just the normal reaction videos but as a composer he explains whatâs going on, and he chooses some good music as well. Also Malmsteen is mad, a genius, but mad.

Page is in the audience jeff, no worries, give me my guitar.
Memories
Great thread working through the career of Miles Davis with many YouTube clips.
It's 30 years ago today that Miles Davis left the stage. I might spend the rest of the day posting favourite tracks. pic.twitter.com/McjsfS9wIa

Been playing this with daughter No.2, she wanted to learn to play it after watching Taxi.
It was doing my head in that DD seemed to be playing the low note riff on the top e string until I remembered that he taught himself to play on a right handed guitar upside down but not restrung. When he switched to left handed guitars he was so used to the previous arrangement that he restrung his left handed ones with the strings upside down.
Saw him a couple of times in Edinburgh (that most surf-tastic of places) in the wake of his Pulp Fiction rebirth.
Great fun - it seemed both for him and the audience.
Page and Plant - unplugged
Excellent. Iâve been on a bit of an all things Jimmy Page tear lately
