Had know idea placebo played live 8
Possibly because me and a friend drove to Hyde park to see if we could sneak in.

Was meant to see them around 10 years ago in Plymouth, had to cancel due to singer illness.

Would still like to see them one day.

Saw them about 3 years ago in Bordeaux. Based on that performance, they are not, in fact, a good live band. Brian Molko in particular seemed like he really couldn’t give a shit. Bearing in mind, he speaks fluent French, and not once did he address the crowd at all, leaving Stefan Olsdal to mostly speak to them in English with a few badly pronounced bits of French thrown in. Not knocking Stefan there, he brought plenty of energy, but Brian was very disappointing.

I’ve no doubt they have probably had their best days as they’ve been going 30 odd years or so.
Think ideally you need to catch a band within the first few years to get the best performance.obviously there are exceptions to the rule.
If you are just going through the motions, then it’s probably time to give up.

That it more like how I had heard they were.

Some here may feel empathy with these lyrics.

No professional actors involved, just Jen’s family and friends

and then Youtube’s algorithm took me back to Ane Brun and the last episode of Krister Henriksson’s Wallander

Been getting some really good old video recommendations lately. Lovely rearrangement . . .

Talking of pil….

Often wondered if the makers of American bandstand understood who they had booked.
