There are lots of versions of this song out there, some of them very good indeed (Sinead O’Connor makes a decent fist of it). But no-one sounds like Liz Fraser

The Insects’ website says they’re working to get the soundtrack to the series out. But two years on it hasn’t happened. Which is a shame, because this is fantastic and deserves better than a 128k MP3.

It would be nice to hear that. Most versions of this in the last few decades were influenced by Anne Briggs’ singing, and hers in turn from travellers and time in Eire.
