I preferred Greggs Magicos over a system I’ve heard with Amati Homage, could have been the Audio Research driving them though.
The Amati are seriously pretty though.

I would like some Amati’s just for their prettiness. Only remember OB’s at Scalford many years ago. They were quite loud.
A local chap has them, they aren’t bad at all, hard to say why I didn’t get on with them, bass seemed a little loose, could be the room, amps, etc. Can go decently loud, but my definition of loud is a bit skewed.
Posh fart boxes.
That’s an understatement. When I heard them the bass was overblown and flabby.
Awful things
I’m being diplomatic because I like the guy and he is very pleased with them
Couldn’t a tremendous pair of homemade speakers be done for 8 grand?
Bob and home made.
Hi bob
Fit the best
Buy everests
Othwise get a smaller speaker and get some tapped horns for your bass
Speedy Steve’s organ sounded fab through diy tapped horns - super deep and realistic but a chore that integrate I imagine
Lordy.
Maybe they needed a better amp. Bit more damping factor perhaps.
Possibly, but I can’t remember what the amp was
So much this. I’ve heard most of their top speakers over the years, with ALL sorts of amps, and I really want to like them, cos they SO priddy, but they just don’t hang together - waffly and polite to the point of seriously lacking resolution.
Form over function
I like this thread, it reads like this
He does indeed. And he still loves 'em.
Brilliant bit of quoting that
Thanks.
Hey - look, I did it again!!
