Agreed, the heel ‘Cubano’ is SO feminine yet

I think it used to be much more the case - they use a different internal sock thingy nowadays…

Shame

I was in the area so popped into Cheaneys factory shop in Dewsbury today.
Picked these up for the bargain basement price of £100.
Apparently they are not dark brown they are espresso!

Burnished espresso by the look of it.
I love Trickers in that colour.

But (nerd alert) what colour polish do you use for them? Or maybe just use neutral?

Currently I’m using neutral on some “espresso” Trickers.

I’m going to get crucified for this, aren’t I?

As long as its Saphir

I use neutral on my Trickers Bourton Revival in Espresso

I got some Cheaney Expesso polish which I will use on any scuffs etc.
I know it is probably relabelled Saphir just like the stuff from Trickers but I was there and it was easy!

Saphir.

Use the nearest shade. Dark brown, but if you don’t like the result use colourless

The cream is the essential stuff. It conditions and adds pigment. The wax (polish) is mainly for waterproofing as a top coat.

Dubbin from Saphir for waxy country leathers. Or for areas of heavy impact and creasing, to stop cracking.

Renovateur cream for dry leathers before the usual routine.

I’ll get my coat…

no cream here.

Has anyone rewaxed a Barbour Wax Jacket themselves or should I send it to Barbour

Get cream… wax won’t stop the fade and the drying out.

Just buy a tin of wax, warm it up and lash it on for the jacket. If you are a clap handed oaf, and rich, pay someone else. Same result.

I use shoe cream all the time, polish every half dozen or so cleans.
Cotton cloths (cut up old tee shirt) to apply and decent horsehair brushes and a polishing cloth do the job

I use dubbin on my doc martens

It’s the best at protecting the leather and nourishing it.
But, leather won’t hold a Polish after it, making it not a lot of good for shiny city shoes.

I still use it on the toe creases and vamp wear areas, to help avoid them getting bad.

Saphir neutral is what I’m using. I shall carry on then.
