Things you no longer see

Newcastle winning. :frowning:

I remember the good old days when we were winning. I lived in the West End then and the basement bar in the Blue Star Social Cub next to St James was my “local”. I sold programs and worked on the vegetable barrows for the old Kelly family.

The West End of Newcastle was a great place to be in my early 20’s.

Alex Harvey, Lindisfarne, Geordie, Supermac - all gone.

What the 1920’s?

Not been seen for a whole fortnight (see earlier in the thread)!

Cigarette adverts.

This one is properly dark…

LOLZ, those bear a striking resemblance to the covers of old Swedish porn.

Bit less in the way of hairy anal closeups…

Except in Yorkshire it seems. Last saw one of those 20 years ago in the uni room that hadn’t been done up in 30 years.

Seriously, have you on the wrong side od the Pennines not moved on to the 2nd edition of the electrical regs yet?

Go to HFS and you will find an audio designer/manufacturer who eulogises about those things. Best plug in the world for the best domestic electrical system the world has ever seen. Apparently.

No.

I like lurking there. It’s the online HiFi forum equivalent of a Victorian circus freak show, except all the exhibits are there voluntarily.

Interesting. It’s quite recent (insulating sleeves on the lower parts of the L and N pins and a modern-style cable grip and screw). What does it plug into ?

The 1950s.

BS546 plugs and sockets are still used in stage lighting rigs, apparently.

Yes, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a 2 amp one used for that.
