Tweed jeggings may be more my thing, for those ichy-scratchy go-commando days.

I thought your cap was grey with splashes of emulsion on it.

I have numerous caps to match my shorts

Mounting a selection of valve sockets on a steel box. Every time I want to knock up a test circuit I have to find the appropriate valve sockets and connect the various resistors, capacitors, transformers, power supplies, meters etc. When all that’s done I have a functional but ugly mess of bits on the workbench. Then I pretty much have to run the tests to completion before I can do anything else because the temporary rig is too fragile/unwieldy to move. The build is time consuming and the result blocks the rest of my workflow.

So I found half a day today to start on this:

At the moment there’s nothing inside the steel box - I’ve just mounted the sockets and put a few valves in place for the photo. The plan is to mount a mains IEC inlet and a selection of test sockets on the removable side panels and also to replace one with a large heatsink where I can mount some regulated LV supplies for heaters, bias etc.

Fine until you sneeze. Or catch a 750V one with a stray finger.
