Nowt all week and a bit of this.
If that’s good, please let me know 'cos Leasingham usually produce shite.
The “Like” was more for the epic label than the unfamiliar wine
No, you really would not like this - it’s a deliberately high fruit/high sugar finish - as sophisticated as an ocker’s jockstrap.
I’m fed-up with supposedly “grown-up” wines that are frankly dry, bleak, bitter and boring - so I’m embracing my inner Lambrini Girl. Wine like the Romans enjoyed - and a lot less pretentious wank.
tOO pished to post
we are trying to branch out from our French staples, which started when we tried a host of interesting German and Austrian whites.
This Austrian is the last of the box I put together at Xmas from Berry Bros
Don’t misunderstand. When in that certain frame of mind, I like average Aussie wine as a rule.
But Stanley-Leasingham are a bulk wine producer from Co-ops in poor wine producing regions, who have achieved their market share by releasing really execrable bag-in-a-box piss.
Their “premium” wine presence (over recent years) is virtually non-existent.
I am concerned for your well being.
I’ve tried a few Austrian wines and find them, at best, under-developed. Not nearly enough development or character. They have mostly been about fruit sweetness, even the reds.
The Roses are quite nice.
this is dry, with a nice subtle apricot flavour and citrus finish. Little or no sweetness
