New turntable and new sports car.
Lucky bugger

It’s not for me it’s for Hel :innocent:

I believe you,

To be fair, though, ones a cheap Beogram 4000 knock-off and the other’s a VW Beetle with the roof hacked off…

Wanted one since I was about 5. One of the prettiest cars.

Mate of mine had one for a weekend as a birthday present. Drove like a truck. No legroom even for short people. Gearchanges took 3 minutes each. Hood took 20 minutes to put up or down. Things were different in the 60s. He loved it!

Only an abject moron would expect modern dynamics from a 1950s sportscar.

£87k tho… :flushed: Probably about 30 times more than it cost new in '67

One more hopeless dream mate.

Think of the crowd it would pull in the pub car park though.

saw one here a few years ago. Pretty thing, sounded like a bag of spanners though and was dripping oil on their car park

All cars from that period dropped oil, it was all the rage. I used to do a bit of driving for a Jaguar, Triumph, Rover dealer in the mid 70s, every brand new car in the showroom had a drip tray under it

With the Astra, chassis & engine components would expand creating perfect seals as it approached Mach 2. No such excuses for British Leyland’s output though.

That will mainly be people watching with horrified fascination as you try and move the steering wheel while the car is stationary.
