Looks to be scaled incorrectly as aja has stated above.

The powerplant and fuel tank remain the same size and yet on the image, it has reduced dramatically in size.

Hardly built for comfort in the first place, but the cars are going to be hellish on street-circuits with the new spec tyre… :confounded:

Except most of the “Street” circuits these days are purpose built arenas. Few are true to their designation.

This is just a slack photoshop effort at showing the differences.
The minimum weight has increased as a lot of the new spec parts are quite heavy compared to the extravagant stuff up to now.

The underbody layout looks very similar to the CART series cars around 1999 though the wings will be more elaborate.

The wheelbase in any case is an aero / design concern and not a fixed regulation requirement.

All the talk of LH not being around next year looks to have been just that - talk.
Sadly that seems to be becoming increasingly normal. Press and pundits are talking things up all over the place.

I think speculation was understandable, given the way the season ended. Concrete statements probably rather less warranted.

Hehehe.

Thank you for this, really enjoyed watching.

I went on to watch the longer version. I’m now curious as to how accurate the Senna film is, especially how Prost was portrayed as the villain. So I’m looking around for something to watch or read about Prost which may show a possibly more accurate view.

Sorry …

This was regarding Ian W’s post on the Steve Nicolls interview on YouTube.

First post on here, despite being a member for a few years, so need to read the how-to

Cheers

No worries. The forum software does some things fairly differently to how older platforms work. Whilst you’re finding your way about it can be a bit weird, but once you’re used to it, you’ll never want to go back

The 2004 BAR Honda F1 race car ran with at least 80 kg of ballast.

Long past time to reverse the ever increasing weight limit as the rules evolve.

I understand the need to increase the safety of the cars, that’s a good thing, but filling them full of batteries and fuel etc. I really don’t get, especially when they don’t put the message across about being green and all that very well at all.

I’m guessing with all the weight increases they are still faster year on year?

I was wondering this. Are lap times getting faster? How would a car from say 2008 compare to one from 2022 round a track? It’s felt for years like cars are getting worse performing, but I don’t follow the sport closely enough to know.

With a few exceptions yes they are.
Most fastest lap records have been set in the last 3 seasons.
