I will be sober, and up early, so happy to be a breakfast cook. Pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausages? And some real maple syrup, to have with breakfast, or afters.
Can I throw some cash at the food? I’m useless at bringing stuff as I don’t bake and not sure what’s needed? Happy to pay a lump towards a more local shop?
How’s it work?
Quinoa sausages?
Group photo with those in would be quite something.
One for the fireside chats with the grandkids.
Maple syrup and afters…
Penance will just explode
You seem to have volunteered this year
That’s fine. I couldn’t get near the cooker for you fat cunts the last two years.
I look forward to your one pot special
I like my breakfast American style, with pancakes, bacon, and eggs, all on the same plate, with butter and maple syrup on the pancakes. I am sure many of you won’t do that, so the afters, was having some pancakes and maple syrup, AFTER breakfast.
This all sounds grand. It’s only fair, though, to prepare you for what might seem like lukewarm appreciation on the day. Honestly it isn’t meant that way. Everyone’s genuinely appreciative. Even those who are struggling to open their eyes, and keep solids down.

I resemble that remark.
Im bringing my special mask.
For Lopwell noobs, please take your time to appreciate the focus of the thread as we draw closer to the event - the attention being paid to food and to beer, over and above incidentals like hifi and music
BTW I’ll probably pay a visit to Enville Ales brewery and bring a few mini kegs again.
The general outline for time spent at Lopwell is as follows:
If sunny, there will be 48hr grazing interspersed with main meals.
If raining there will be 48hgr grazing interspersed with main meals.
You will stink of bonfire the entire time.
You may come away wondering how some of the people you meet have survived in the world this long
If you meet Stronzetto, the best thing to do is pay him to go away.
Regardless of where you’re sleeping, it will not be well
Don’t wear tight fitting clothing - grazing on this scale requires room to grow
If new to gluttony, prep yourself by swatting up Roman feasting (Nero period / vomitoriums etc is a good place to begin)
Do not be under the illusion the focus is about Hifi. There probably will be music, typically sounding OK, there will be conversation about hifi, typically bollox interspersed with interesting.
You may be robbed by Brownies
If the food doesn’t make your stomach hurt the laughter probably will.
… and @coco will snooze in the afternoon soundly enough to change the parting on his hair, and give him a pair of glasses with a Sharpie. Be warned though he rouses quickly at the merest sniff of BBQ.

It’s as much about hifi as this forum is…
Ok, travel arrangements are proving to be tricky for this, however, that may well be moot. Lou has just received a provisional date for admission to hospital of 2nd June, with the prospect of heart surgery on 5th June.
Great news, if it isn’t cancelled (obviously, emergencies can scupper this date) and we could/should have confirmation by the end of next week.
I’ll confirm one way or another as soon as I know for certain.
