3rd annual Sou'wester 14_16 June 2019 it's BACK ON AT LOPWELL

It’s a just shame that I forgot to pick up my pizza flour from Guy :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Me too.

I have it I think

Oh great, just pop it in the post with my grinder.

The Beau-ming-O marketing team need to get their shit together. ‘White Face’ is exactly the physical reaction Ritchie experienced with his model. The 3rd hand Lowell *‘triple time’ should simply have been called ‘Cunt’ which is precisely the first word Ritchie uttered when he opened his eyes to find the ‘beyond special’ prize in his hands. Of course this was exactly the right term for the watch encompassing the moment entirely (Brevity of ownership, emotion towards all present etc )

  • Beau-Ming -O have a thing for ‘triple time’

That pork pie you get really is the best one I’ve ever had

Different league to any others

I’m still surprised by how lucky we were with the weather. Gill had been out for a walk at Calstock in the next valley on Saturday afternoon & got a thorough 45 minute soaking. We didn’t get any of that.
I was really impressed by how well all of the bbq’d meat came out; from the lamb & chicken kebabs on Friday to the beef pork & ribs on Saturday. I was also really impressed by the Uuni & am hovering over that Homebase offer. It did produce some great pizzas especially those arranged by Mr Jazz Hands @stu with his unorthodox & improvised ‘tomato sauce last’ approach to toppings.

I also managed to fit in a kayak excursion upstream with @Spider into the absolutely quiet, lost, green valley the Tavy cuts above the dam. It’s an interesting spot because no one goes there. There aren’t really any accessible paths either side, no houses by the river or any other boats. Totally unspoilt & serene although we were expecting to find a Colonel Kurtz figure up there with a tribe of stunted Devonians living in the woods.

So another fantastic & relaxing weekend. Good company, a nice choice of alcohol & great food. It has everything. Looking forward to next time.

I did think, when surveying the array of BBQ tech out at the back, that we were turning into Americans! But it did produce some amazing results.
