A pair of Ruark Equinox Loudspeakers with dedicated stands, in dark walnut. With original boxes.Originally about £1800 I think.
They will be on demo at the Wam show in Barnsley this Sunday room 102…There will be some photos on the Wam shortly…I’m asking 700 or very near offer …
Definitely worth Googling reviews if you have not come across these before; they are one of the (very few!) great loudspeakers. There is a Stereophile review at
http://www.stereophile.com/standloudspeakers/297ruarkequinox, and many other reviews.
Ruark were using doped paper and silk dome drive units at the time; spec below. The crossovers are in the stands.
These really are one of the great speaker designs. They have a natural and highly engaging voicing with the soundstage of a two driver standmount but also the scale and dynamics of a much bigger speaker. They excel at classical but will rock with the best if asked! They are not particularly difficult to drive but to get the best out of them they like decent kit;
Ruark at the time also finished their speakers with a stained lacquer (which we used to moan at them about, as it made any chips very visible). These speakers do have a few very minor marks, mainly on the bases which could be touched in,
They come in 4 original boxes with paperwork.
