This evening took a change of course as our Wipeout Bingo party mates fell asleep at 11.30 
and then Sam and I got an invite to join the count in Spalding, from which we’ve just returned…

Annoyingly, we were just pipped to second place (best realistic outcome we could have hoped for) by fucking Reform - they are clearly the protest vote du nos jour, Rodney, the horrible cunts. We chatted with most of the candidates at some point, but Reform’s Matt Swainson refused to engage with anybody, just strutted-around the place like a man with a broomhandle up his arse.
It was a really bloody interesting evening, most especially discovering that spoiled ballots - far from being binned en-masse - are carefully reviewd by two independent adjudicators and all of the candidates (1st pic) who are asked to approve or disapprove those which despite being spoiled have still made a clear selection of just one candidate - a little pocket of real democracy that I had no idea existed.
We’ve taken votes from the tories this time, and so did both LDs and Greens, but there’s no escaping the fact that Reform has taken more, and mopped-up a lot of the disaffected ex-tories.
Onwards and upwards.

Reform are going to take a few such shitholes - more, I suspect, than the exit polls suggested.
I can think of no way to spin that as remotely positive in any way.
