Although he can’t constitutionally concede, Sunak has conceded

Time for a few zeds before work. Have a pay deal to get through today now the election is over.

Waiting for Truss, and praying…

Hunt used the phrase ā€œthe magic of democracyā€.
Well it’s crtainly made a lot of tories disappear…

I’ve attended a few counts, usually as a nominated representative of a candidate. It is, as Maureen says, an interesting process but bugger me it’s often a looooong night  with the highlight being getting the chance to look at the suspect ballot papers & agreeing which ones should count & which ones should be binned. The majority of these are just wilfully spoiled :man_facepalming: or rejected as a result of blatant stupidity and lack of understanding :man_shrugging:, but occasionally you find one with a comment on it that raises a smile & a titter :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: amongst the agents & candidates (usually irrespective of political bias!)

I would have loved to have taken all of them home to read - some people had written entire theses on them - some of them, predictably something more in the faeces line - but the more creative had attached extra sheets, pictures, objects (nothing gruesome that I saw), drawings…

I’m a night owl, fuelled by strong tea, so it wasn’t too much of a struggle staing up, but then I was mostly just circulating and chivvying Paul up in concert with a few others from the local group. Those of us involved at different levels have all learned a lot.
