Actual photography

I have the 16-55 but its a beast to carry all day. Got 23mm and 56mm for travel. Im enjoying the challenge of a prime but it turns out im rather shit at photography and probably should have learnt how to use the X-T5 before our holiday.

Kodachrome seems rather blue and cold. However i did forget to set ev

Surprised at that. Kodachrome used to seem good on the red end of the spectrum, nice and warm. Fujichrome was vivid in the green.

Seems i got that wrong.

Nostalgic negative

Liking the kodachrome 64. Need to work on my composition.

Looking good to me but I am no expert. Perhaps would be helped by something more photogenic.

Considered but got that sideways look from Mrs P.

Are these digital filters?

Kind of, in camera film recipes to emulate film types.

I think Sony has similar and could be done in post processing.

Fuji call them recipes, while others call them simulations, profiles etc. It’s just changing the colour, contrast, sharpness & colour settings in camera so it records the result as a Jpeg.

Im quite enjoying playing with it but suspect i may regret some. Shouldve shot jpg+raw maybe.

Stuck with ‘Reggies Portra’ today, created for portraits but a decent do it all. Visited Burano where the colours need a little more punch than Kodachrome.

Also Torcello, away from the crowds and an interesting location.

Torcello is a delight - away from the crowds & with a wonderful Byzantine church.

Indeed, really nice little island and relatively quiet.
Id like to have spent more time there but Mrs P is struggling with the heat a bit.
