Middle row
Yes yes those clouds
The Clyde estuary this afternoon - actually took a detour on the bike to get this as the light was perfect (didnt come across as well with my phone camera).
Are they doing fireworks at the Pier Head?
Thought Kal-El landed in Kansas, not next to the Liver Building
No. There was a festival of light in town though:
Sounds like the Blitz though with the barrage coming from Dingle and Toxteth. It’s still like the Battle of the Somme out there now.
I recently posted a similar shot of this marker that was straight out of the camera. I initially liked it, but I soon felt it wasn’t actually much cop so I’ve gone back to a raw file and processed it as it always should have been.

OMG.
Actual global shutter and 120FPS + 1/80000s flash sync, 1s pre-buffer and other stuff. For sports this is a game changer.
Amazing technology but we now move into the world of ‘is this video or photo’?
I have a Nikon which shoots 20fps in raw and much more in Jpeg but even shooting wildlife I reduce it to 15fps otherwise I just end up with a shit-ton of photos to delete and I can 99% of the time nail a shot or more at 15fps. For pros shooting sport though it could well be a game changer. Flash sync mental shutter speed is cool but very niche other than for pros, I’d say. How much £ is this beast?
Finalement, glass, long lenses is crucial to sports and Nikon is ruling that game right now - epic competition which is good for all us punters.
Nother belter , this time space age
£6k
They also launched a 300mm f/2.8 that is stupid small and light (1.5kg). Also £6k
Agree, astonishing tech, but just not needed by me. I already have an A9ii and A7Riii.
Woah 6k, that is specialist pro sports territory (leica even) - autofocus would have to be groundbreaking too to justify the extra dollar vs competition. The 300 is nice but not long enough for sports or wildlife, 500 min IMHO. It’ll be interesting to see how the YouTubers review this.
Just read it has a base ISO of 250 - and if that is true no thanks.
Wouldn’t interest me - A7 Rv much more use!
Yeah, that’s the downside of the global shutter.
Is this likely to just be an early-adopter penalty, or a technological brick-wall?
No idea
Suspect the former.
