Here’s a gift 
Backstory here is I was taking shots in a fishing village outside of Hoi An.Doc. Dockside was overrun with the Vietnamese backbone: women, of all genrations
And here in this bar were the boat owners, doing sweet fuck all bar smoking like a mofo and caning coffee

we were mainly by the beach, ending the trip with a bit of pool n beach. And rain
Hoi An was gorgeous, in the early morning before the throngs arrived. It’s in a bad state after the typhoon hit the week after we left. A lot of the beach has been washed away, and the fishing village took a lot of structural damage which they won’t have the money to repair for a while :-/
We were there in 2017. Stayed on the island near the centre.
We were devastated to see the typhoon damage on the news.
My understanding is that the UN and Vietnam Government have restored the village to pretty much its former glory.
I certainly hope so as we are planning a trip there in 2027.
yeah: we had a local guide who showed us around the old city for an afternoon - was difficult to compare to what may or not have been there before, but it really is a stunning preservation of what there for centuries.
It’s not their first big flood (quite the opposite) but from talking to my local photography guide and reading the VN news, it’s been devastating this time.
Really really like #1 & #3, but they’re all brilliant!

Got absolute battered by the rain and wind at Wyming Brook in the Peaks on Friday having a crack at some long exposure shots.
As the first photo shows it was touch and go for a while but me and my FiL’s umbrella pulled through. The energy of the water was awesome
I haven’t been up there for a few months, but I think that there is a bit more light there now.
Last time I was there with the Trust we were chopping up a large conifer that had fallen over the bench at the bottom of the path.
Slightly different to the normal fare but vaguely on topic. That pic of the Bryston was taken by me, in an Amazon Basics pop up studio using an iPhone 16 Pro Max. I’ve shot things that wound up on the cover before but I’ve previously used an actual camera to do it.

What size of studio cube is it & presumably the background is shopped in afterwards?
