Rice is nice but where the hell is the bread and butter pudding???

Rice is nice but where the hell is the bread and butter pudding???

Carb-rich and a useful mix of slower and faster ones. For the Lyke Wake Walk I packed a tin or two of this (the regular stuff, without the sultanas and nutmeg) into individual plastic pots. Not enough carbs though, so each pot was supercharged with extra golden syrup !
Since Friday was hot and sunny (here, at least) and there might still be a few sunnies to come I decided yesterday to squeeze one more summer sherry trifle in before the equinox. There’s a week’s worth here though the whipped cream will be pretty stiff by the end …
Was never a great fan of that, then on a trek the person charged with obtaining desserts bought 6kg of the pink stuff. Now the thought of it makes me want to puke.
Eat the lot while it is fresh, a little Sunday treat.
Edit: Someone kindly reminded that is probably not the best advice @Valvebloke
I’d be unable to move.
The base layer is a (carefully sliced) entire store-bought Swiss roll.
Doesn’t sound too appetising. ![]()
Which reminds me the swill truck always used to come to collect during morning break when I was at primary school. Just the thing to put off your dinner.
Dunno what happened there.
Or maybe I do. Neuroscientists recognise a syndrome where your thinking can ‘get ahead’ of your typing, so the end of roll appears a word too early because that’s where your fingers still are. I don’t think it’s meant to be a good sign …
I don’t think we had a swill truck but definitely remember having to drink warm bottles of milk in the summer.
Yep, remember that as well. Or until Maggie scrapped them.
My mum used to make the most tasteless rice pudding ever. I have no idea how she got it so wrong.
My Greek mate’s mum, however, made the best Rizogalo. Think super rich rice pudding with light spicing. Epic !
Used to hate rice pudding.
I now love it.
Hope that gem of info helps this thread.
We need to get up to Lifton & do an Ambrosia factory tour.
Alfie used to knock about with someone who’s dad worked there.
Got us loads of nourishment drinks for 50p each.
Next visit it will be on the menu
One of my neighbours works there. I don’t know if they do tours though.
If you stick some Velcro on the base,I could use it on my orbital sander
