Blackburn at home today.
After a run of Sunderland , West Brom Luton and Burnley a lot of fans wouldn’t have been surprised with no points from that run. 6 out of 12.
Now on paper a run of easier games. Beginning with Blackburn.
Despite his critics and I had my reservations Rooney has really got the team giving everything for him. If we can get a win today I might even start to believe myself.

We should have been out of sight. Just can’t put chances away. Thats the position that costs money though.
This was against Eustace who Rooney replaced at Birmingham when they were 4th and then got relegated. The way he’s got Blackburn playing you can see why Rooney couldn’t get a tune out of them trying to play football. They offered nothing but balls over the top. This is some of the best football in years at Argyle.
The linesman on my side was useless and apart from the players not playing to the whistle , when Blackburn scored we should have had a free kick. Angry scenes in the dugouts ending with the Blackburn bench protesting and finally Rooney getting sent off. He did try and climb over the barrier and sit with the fans but the ref was having none of it and sent him to the tunnel.
We looked on the ropes for a bit but rallied and sent them home with nothing. Get in.

Apart from Martinez the other signings have been consistently awful. Evans has done ok given his age but the rest? Terrible. There’s also no discernible evidence of any coaching going on.
Hoping Villa (for a change) actually do the job this afternoon & the dismal Ten Hag era is brought to an end.

Villa can’t keep a clean sheet in the PL, and have been giving teams a goal or two start. Also Villa get nothing when they play United so its hard to imagine anything more than a draw.

Two pretty mediocre teams & ETH will probably hang on for now 
On the other hand I simultaneously watched a 6 goal (3-3) thriller between Charlton & Sunderland women which was entertaining despite Sophie not playing. The manager needs to settle on a 1st choice keeper though as the defence can’t enjoy playing in front of different keepers week in week out.
