Looks like what we called a rissole in Oldham. Something my mum cooked occasionally.

Here’s the recipe

Basically a mince, onion and potato patty. Very tasty.

I usually make 10 or 12 and freeze them, they freeze very well and once reheated in the oven they’re indistinguishable from freshly made ones.

Yes, I was drenched by the time I finished it. Heat was provided by naga chillies and obviously other spices.

The curry I cooked at the weekend was a ‘hotter than Madras’ not quite authentic but adapted recipe which Hel requested as she wanted a ‘kill or cure’ for feeling under the weather. Whatever she had she sweated it all out and got up the next day feeling right as rain!
