Pepperoni attention needed

That’s not any pepperoni, that’s vegan pepperoni

Why

Cos he’s veggie?

Have a guess

It wasn’t my pizza it was Jenny’s.

I guess but it’s a meat product
Sorry never really understood the imitation when there are great vegetables out there

Not if it hasn’t got any meat in it

I think he means pepperoni is meat product. There’s no such thing as vegan pepperoni. It’s just a flavoured protein disc.

I’m with him, in a world of amazing vegetables and choices to put on a pizza, I don’t know why anyone would do this.

I would be keen to know what “amazing vegetables” work well on pizza, other than Peppers and Chilli’s obvs.

People are vegetarian for many reasons.

Maybe some veggies like the taste/texture of certain meat products and thus attempt to recreate dishes they miss?

Artichokes.

Onions.

Charred / BBQ’d maybe.

Definitely

Artichoke, fennel, mushroom, courgette, aubergine.

Want pepperoni, take some courgette and roast in the oven with salt and smoked paprika, apply to pizza… vegetarian alternative made from an actual vegetable.

I often make pizza with shredded fennel, and it’s delicious.
