N’s Fish (Tasman Sea Blue Grenadier) and Chips…
My Big Earl Burger…
Awesome!
The wife is a very good cook, however a big part of her method is that she has to have the recipe in front of her, and it must be followed as closely as possible. There’s no “a pinch of this and a bit of that”.
Being in NI for extended periods of time means she is separated from her library so I frequently find myself WhatsApping her photos of recipes.
This morning’s request was the onion, bacon and potato hotpot from this
which I’ve just realised has been in her life longer than I have

Some bastard has put a pile of gravel and some green shite on your plate. Where are the eggs, beans and other traditional accompaniments to the proper breakfast hiding?
I despise baked beans! The haggis goes down well this side of the border though!
Spot of posh grub, @HughJanus?
Yeah, it’s been all over the news here.
We’ve eaten on some epically good pubs/restaurants since arriving.
We’ve yet to have what I would call an “ordinary” meal.
Food is something Adelaide does really well. And exceptional value.
Lunch today at Ballaboosta (Lebanese-ish).
N’s Malfoof…
My Kafta…
Excellent quality and value. Cheaper than an ‘average’ takeaway in the UK.
Very spicy Virgin Mary, chorizo and nduja (I think) croquettes and the best burger in the area IMVHO.
Chicken in a creamy white wine, vintage cheddar
& tarragon sauce. Served mit herby roasted baby potatoes
& steamed sugar snap peas.
Prepping various meals and lunches and snacks for the weekend. Got carried away.
Papaya salad
Tomato salsa
Butternut chilli and coconut soup
Beef bourguignon
BBQ’d Sirloin, stir-fry Rainbow Chard (picked fresh from the garden), and salady stuff…
Steak was so big, we shared it.
Chicken en croute with oak smoked bacon
& vintage cheddar cheese
encased in a flaky puff pastry & finished with an egg wash glaze. Served mit potato
rosti 'n steamed sugar snap peas.
Good to see you having something green with your beige…
