I’ve started doing quite a bit of research on the history of the town and surrounding villages and came across some super photos which I’m never quite sure carry any interest to those who might not know the town.

Some nice aerial shots from the 1910, 1930, 1960s etc show the development around the house which I’m about to move into built in mid 20s on the grounds of a former manor house.

A lot of the original buildings remain but some like the Post Office on the left on the first photo, were pulled down and in that case replaced by a fairly charmless 70s effort for Woolworths

As Virula she smoulders with passion after kissing Harry H Corbett playing Police Sergeant Sydney Bung.
