It might of reminded me of something Once Upon a time but memory isn’t what it used to be anymore.

Reminded me of a shop I deal with which was right next to the Brooklyn bridge and that was the view at the end of their street. But I checked and your image isn’t of the all brick Brooklyn bridge.

The French Connection came to mind

That exact (superb!) image has certainly appeared in this thread before, the district has appeared in pretty much every movie and TV show that has ever used NYC as a backdrop, and surely-to-god it must have been used on at least one album cover, but beyond that, I had to look it up and discovered:

  1. the area is now known as DUMBO - short for ‘Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass’.

  2. the first reinforced-concrete buildings in America were built there.

  3. the cardboard box was invented there.

  4. it’s now one of the most expensive places in NYC, due in part to having the highest concentration of tech companies!

  5. it’s a massive tourist-trap for the Selfie generation:

None of which are the right answer, no doubt…

That pic of the Esso Northumbria in Wallsend??

Indeed Mr Leone must have been a fan.
