Many nights in the late 80s early 90s ended in Chinatown (not at Sai Woo) after the bars turned out at 2:00am.
Fond memories of Singapore Noodles and “cold tea”. “Cold tea” was beer served in grotty old opaque plastic pitchers and glasses so observers from the street couldn’t see that the restaurant was serving liquor after hours.
Not so fond memories of the other option; sketchy as fuck unlicensed non fire code back alley “night clubs”. Even in my fucked up state the “if a panic breaks out everyone in here is dying” vibes were strong
Happy memories - was at UCL from 84-88 and made it to Wong Kei a few times. The dialogue normally went:
