I’ve probably told this story before, but a very long-standing mate (2 onwards) mate’s maiden aunt went on a tour of the US late 1980s.
She was boring the family to death with photos and eventually got on to California where a terribly nice young man and his friend (we think they weren’t married!) had helped them set up on the beach.

A pair of Australian surfers drove this classic Westfalia Kombi throughout Europe before shipping it over to California ( Hermosa Beach).

Meh ! I’ve got 5 -10 years (hopefully) before stuff starts going seriously wrong / falling off, so, until then, other stuff (solitude, simplicity, freedom, self determinism etc) is more interesting !
