Anyone got any experience with 'rugged' phones?

From cold switch-on ?

I can’t remember the last time I used what you might call a ‘public’ PC - one in a library say (do those still exist ?) or one in an office/work environment. But how can those be safe if they’re routinely short-circuiting password protection ?

During school lockdowns we heard a fair bit about disadvantaged families whose kids were having to share IT hardware. Sometimes there was only one device in the whole house. Would kids doing their homework be treated to alerts, with some text details, to their parents’ e-mails ?

I think that public ones could easily be set up to have a guest account that stores nothing once you’ve logged out.

As for sharing, it’s easy to set up family user accounts in Windows, so they all have their own setup and get just their own alerts. Whether people actually bother is another thing.

Most places (should) use Windows Kiosk mode for this.
