Where we come to on holiday in Sussex, there are quite a few 1930s houses. Here are a couple of nice ones from the same cul de sac.
just lovely.
Although they should be issued a fine for that pvcu door and window.
The other one is loaded with them. Guessing the originals are steel framed single glazed. Secondary glazing I’m also guessing is the only option if Grade two listed, unless someone is making double glazed units that match the original these days.
The ‘cinema’ house was in a properly dilapidated state about 3-4 years ago. It’s nice to see someone has at least taken it on and spent some money on it.
‘Crittal’ style windows are all the rage these days for the fake industrial loft look. Still pricier than mass market shite pvc, but more accessible than 20 years ago.
I appreciate that, just surprised the facade wasn’t listed, maybe just the larger window.
We have a building of similar vintage up in Barrow, they knocked it down apart from two sides of the facade and then built a couple of warehouse style outlets in it. That was true vandalism.
It was a grade two listed building, Art Deco
The front
The inside
That is, just, taking the piss vandalism
Posting coffee video here but for the house!
Ghost house in moreton paddox £2.5mil and currently for sale
Lovely bit of concrete there.
Thought I recognised it, designed by very good Birmingham practice Bryant Priest Newman. They’ve been around circa 30 years and designed some great buildings in and around Jewellery Quarter where there based.
I have questions.
Is that the Epstein play room?
The interior designer should be shot.
Reminds me of a B&B I stayed in Greenwich whilst working in canary wharf.
Was an awful roman type bath with shocking artwork on the walls.
I made the mistake of looking in the cupboard for towels.
Was full of skimpy leather mini skirts and other stuff. The woman who ran it was around 65.
To top the stay off, she knocked on our door at 2am asking for a spare roll up.
Nicely understated
