Big, highly sensitive vintage speakers - oh and cheap

I have some recently acquired, big old Leak speakers which should be fairly sensitive. I’ll give them a whirl this weekend and see whether they’d be appropriate.

2075s?

No. I think the earliest version of what they called the 15 Ohm sandwich speakers. Like this.

Supposedly go well with a stereo 20 or similar.

Trust me, they are not sensitive!!

I don’t want to prejudice your listening Guy but I think these may be a bit polite rather than ‘room filling’, although that’ll depend on the room of course. The last time I listened to my pair they came across as rather ‘BBC’ - basically neutral and well-behaved but with a tendency towards boxiness. They were popular and pretty highly rated in their day though. They might be too good for pub tunes :slightly_smiling_face:.

Lecson HB1’s would be a great choice of speakers . I had a pair once and wished I never sold them.
They do come up from time to time.
