Read elsewhere of a rumour of a GE at the end of Feb,don’t know if this was put out by the Tories to get May’s deal through,or just internet bollox.
If there is a GE it would be interesting to see what the Tories and Lab’s manifesto’s would say.
Tories can’t go anywhere near remain for fear of losing millions to ukip or farage’s new party,and similar for Labour.
While I recognise this as probably true, I really can’t understand how anyone could switch from Labour to UKIP. Just makes no sense unless you’re a total fuckwit.

That’s because, and this is not a criticism, you’re middle class Adam. The amount of working class (I identify as working class, just to make things clear) people who I work with who have voted Labour all their lives but are either ambivalent about immigration or just outright racists is frightening. It’s a significant minority, maybe even a slight majority.

Nobody is stupid enough to form a coalition with the Tory party, not even the DUP. If it is a coalition it’ll be Labour and SNP most likely as the Scotch Tory Clan are fecked with the Brexit Mrs May is foisting on the Scotch.

Depends how the manifesto’s go,if the Libs are the only one with a peoples vote on it,Lab could lose to many votes to get a look in
I know these people - many of my family are like this (why do you think I moved away?) But I still can’t understand why you would move from a left wing party to a far right one, over a single issue. Even if that issue was important to you

I, personally, can’t think of a single issue which would swing my allegiance that much, but everybody has their tipping point.
I was originally going to say that it’s because they have nothing else to complain about, but thought that was a bit glib.
Far left and far right aren’t as distant from each other as many would think.

Because every politician and newspaper in the UK has spent 20 years denigrating or at best, ignoring, the EU. The problem isn’t the hard core Brexiteers who vote in GEs, it’s the several million that Cummings found, the people that don’t normally vote turned out in huge numbers to support Leave.
Moot point as the Tories will never call for a GE that they could lose, even they’re not that stupid. Well they were, but May won’t make that mistake twice!

Bailing out banks and pointing the misery finger at immigration whilst the 1% swerve the new EU tax haven laws and Putin begins his ‘iron claw back’ are large issues. Selling fast talk to slow thinking people is the job of the flim flam man - America got Trump we got Farage Boris and the Mog along with the promise of ‘Taking back control’.
