How many times? It was in their manifesto. They weren’t standing on a Remain ticket in 2017.
How many times… I don’t give a shit. I was hoping they would do the right thing for the country. Manifestos are irrelevant, because they aren’t in power, as you keep reminding us when you need a convenient excuse to justify their lack of spine.
But they won’t. Party before country. Hence disappointment,
I realise all of that. I was interested in Guy’s comment about the crash and if he thought a hypothetical Labour led referendum would have had a different result.
The reason I asked that is because in my old haunt (Hartlepool) the two reasons that I was told (and my Dad, who knows and speaks to half of the population) were responsible for the massive leave vote were immigrants (obviously, although there are very few in the town
) and ‘It’s Cameron, he wants to stay, so we’ll oppose it’
Like the Tories, they were trying to respect the outcome of the referendum. Just as the SNP are with their voters in Scotland.
Respect, lol. Makes a convenient excuse, though.
Come GE, I fully expect them to get absolutely fucking reamed. People won’t forget this.
Unless it’s Indyref?
I suspect that will inevitably happen now.
Quite possibly, but I have no idea what the outcome will be.
No one’s gone for 4d chess yet.
It may be fairly soon when the latest Unicorn plan hits the EU’s brick wall.
I’d have thought many Scots will look at Ireland and feel they’d prefer to have the support of the EU rather than the English. I couldn’t blame them.
Corbyn is rapidly becoming an albatross.
Nor could I.
I wouldn’t object to someone else doing it provided they kept to the same general policy ideals. I’m not sure who would do that. Keir Starmer might I suppose.
Does it play 4d chess?
I’d have thought many Scots will look at Ireland and feel they’d prefer to have the support of the EU rather than the English. I couldn’t blame them.
I don’t doubt that, but wanting to leave one union to remain in a another union seems a touch contrary?
Only on Sundays
Not if the first union gives you a shit deal & little say.
bed beckons.

Of course, the Scotch would have a major say in the EU, wouldn’t they.
Assuming they were allowed (or even qualified) to join in the first place…
