It’ll be fine. What could possibly go wrong ?
Exhausts pointing back towards the engine is a brave engineering choice.
I’m not sure that they are real
Strong money for an old Rover.
Even so Id gladly make space in the collection for a late vitesse minter like this.
Then again, look at the new crap you could roll off the forecourt in for £30K - immediately lose £15K and instantly become totally invisible… With this there would always be a sense of occasion.
My old man had an early 2.6 straight-6, and for all that it was a bit weedy, it was a joy to drive - was years before I drove anything that felt better, and despite their rep, it was comfortable, reliable and not too bad on fuel for its day… But yeah, rust… That’s another story, but this sounds sorted.
Check out this one.
New cams, light flywheel and a sports exhaust. He reckon 240ish hp.

It would sound better through horns.
At least one SD1 has been given the 5.0 version of the Rover V8 from the Griffith 500 and I imagine that’s entertaining in an old school way.
You’ll then have one for each foot.
I saw this and thought of @BobC
It did have a number plate on the back of the car (which may have been that of camper van, I didn’t check) but as a little vehicle it did look functional.
