I had a mk2. I wasn’t the first owner, but I was the last.

Really like that Sprite, looks like it has had time/effort/money spent on it. Panels look straighter and gaps tighter than when it left the factory.

Mate had a sprite, getting in and out was interesting 30yrs ago. Think I’d end up in A&E if I tried it these days though.

I had one when I was young and (more) foolish. Loved it - the back end was so stiff you could hang the tail out on dry roundabouts.
Then I made the mistake of doing an engine rebuild just before a trip from Plymouth to central Scotland. Running it in at 45 up the A38, M5 and M6 was painful with everything overtaking me - sitting there after dark with an artic up my chuff was a scary experience, it was so low it felt like they could just run over you and not notice

Was musing on how it would compare with the cost of a return rail ticket to London from down here in the South West. Provided you didn’t go First Class the train is marginally cheaper, but about the same if I factor in the cost of getting to the train in Plymouth. Mental really. Me + 2 tons of Rolls Royce vs me on a train being about the same. Obvs there’d be ULEZ charges to add on.
Anything over 40 years old is exempt.

Drove past a Pagani Utopia today, which Google tells me is a rare sight, with only 99 made. Had the numberplate BOY 1.
The black coupe, is that an early Manta?

Yes, there’s a little chrome Manta ray behind the front wheel. Very sharp looking car.
There were lots of Ferraris, Lamborghinis & Jags there along with quite a few US cars, Corvettes Mustangs etc. But I liked the Alfas, Austin Atlantic & the Simca Aronde and the Lotus Elite.
It’s a nice event, free admission & some very enthusiastic owners keen to tell about them.
