Cart advice

The similar spec Hana and Ortofon cost more.

I’d be very wary about buying a cartridge based on spec. If you’re seriously considering one make sure you hear it first.

I have the xml, as I thought the ML stylus profile would be better. It is a good sounding cart, and can not imagine beyond tracking ability there would be much in it. At least Audio Technica are using captive threads at last.

The EXN is very good. It did brilliantly in a group test and it now has threaded inserts to make it much less fucking annoying. Quite a few people I know who have not historically been fans of the OC9, rate this latest gen very highly.

I’ve noticed that threaded inserts are de rigeur in 2020.

Yes because unthreaded carts are an unmitigated fucking nuisance.

Having recently fitted my Zyx to a Moerch I have recent 1st hand experience of unthreaded. :roll_eyes: I am amazed I didn’t total the cart.

Not for me it isn’t :joy:

Even then, it’s easier to fit a threaded cartridge than an unthreaded one. It’s less likely to loosen over time too.

Not if it’s ‘Linn Tight’ ;-).
Thanks for the feedback on the cart btw :+1:

FTW = for the wobble?

Cheers Col, I know you’ve been pleased with yours and I’d forgotten you had it!
