I need to recommend a cheap MM cart for a family member whose cantilever has gone awol. I was thinking an AT-95E for around £45 or a AT-VM95C for £30
Any others I should look at. Max budget £80

Vm95, whichever version fits the budget you want to spend. IMHO the ortofon 2M Red is truly dreadful. I have a spare and I wouldn’t even give it to you for free, that’s how bad I think it is!
