Chelsea Dave’s record sale

I really don’t think anyone should do any extra work here.
It’s all a win; buyers get a great price on a good condition LP
The charity gets a good donation
and Dave’s ‘stuff’ doesn’t get lost in a charity shop/landfill…
If there are any LPs that are not identified/sold you could just add to the raffle or do a separate post to clear up at the end?

Batch F will be up tomorrow night (Thursday ) and G on Sunday night.

Possibly a £5 batch next Wednesday which will be the end of Dave’s records.

The record and cd piles are getting pretty large at present,so wondering if this works for enough people to make it viable.

If I drive from Plymouth via Exeter,Bristol up the M5 near stoke, then onto somewhere near Nottingham just south, then down to the m25 via Northampton, east round m25 then down south to near Brighton area, and along the south coast back to Plymouth.

It’s a bit of a jaunt, but will save me days in terms of packing and scouring suitable boxes as there are over 50 individual buyers so far and still 120ish records to sell in last two batches.

So ideally need enough people to make it worthwhile, and someone who is happy to take people’s orders from (Stoke) for north west and the same for Nottingham,Derbyshire Yorkshire etc.

Just need to cover petrol, around £100,so if enough involved it will only cost a few quid each.

If no interest,I’ll start sorting packaging as soon as the sales finish.

Some of the record piles are getting pretty large so getting a bit concerned.

The smaller sales are fine as I have plenty of individual mailers, but will need to start getting 20 record mailers if needed which matt has sent me a link for.

If any interest, let me know here.

Happy to do what works for you.

Best idea is to get lumps of it further north and then rely on more local pick ups of the batches.
Posting will be a nightmare, both in time and complication.
Dump batches with AA members in strategic locations and then it’s a pick up from your nearest one?

Your idea is spot on unless anyone is already planning to make a journey from near you to nearer somewhere else. Taxis as they happen.

There is no rush. Bake-offs might be the way…

Depending on route, we’re 30 minutes from the A1 (Peterborough) - there’s beer, supper and a bed for the night here for you if you would like it @stu I’d be happy to hold/pass-on stuff for people in the general east/Anglia area.

Works for me Stu :+1: Happy to contribute. I could also collect for Pete / @cobbler and anyone else in the Northants/MK area if needed.

Fab for me, happy to meet wherever if it shortens your drive and be a stoke hub for others to collect at leisure / meet up as I travel with work. If you want to stay over to break up the journey you would be very welcome.

Cheers

I would like to extend the hospitality offer as well, but as the NL/D border area won’t be close to the route, I’m afraid it won’t be much of a help. (Still welcome anyway  )

Just thinking out loud, as just petrol won’t cover all costs involved. (It excludes service, maintenance, insurance).
Why don’t we all chip in an additional fiver, to cover all secondary costs.
Whatever is left, should be invested in beer for all those involved doing such a marvelous job.

Happy to help in whatever way I can - meet up/collect in the midlands to assist.
Happy to contribute to costs too.

I think this sounds like a good emerging plan - just to say I can make sure Stu’s costs are completely covered, but a contribution would be welcome. I’ll have a chat with Stu and we can come back with a plan of action.

This sounds a good idea.
I am similar to Darren, and work between Leek and Stoke (ST9).
I would hope we could cover fuel and a contribution for Stu’s time?

Happy to contribute.

also happy to contribute.

Happy to contribute. Im not known to many on here yet, but I am trustworthy, I just talk a bit too much
And I’m 5 minutes from J14 of M1 if that helps anyone :+1:

I’ll consider chucking in an extra fiver if you hand deliver mine, I might even stretch to a cup of tea and a biscuit.
